To make pear de-seeding more efficient, accurate and quicker, CTI FoodTech has developed the CTI-EPC.
The name EPC stands for “Electronic Pear Coring,” which highlights the great leap in quality by which the machine stands out from the competition. In fact, the CTI-EPC can electronically detect differences in fruit height and adjust the processing level so that each channel of each station is independent and processes each fruit differently. This minimizes waste and maximizes yield, making the process more efficient. A significant advantage is the choice to design the CTI-EPC to dehull only previously peeled pears, as opposed to slower and more expensive alternatives, which lose a substantial percentage of yield due to the mechanical peeling process. With low cost and high yield, at the speed of 300 fruits per minute, the CTI-EPC can definitely contribute and make the final product more competitive in the market. The machine can also optionally cut the fruit in two, and is therefore a complete cutting solution for industrial pear processing lines.
The CTI-EPC was extensively tested in two campaigns in Spain, and was officially introduced to the U.S. market at the Food Processing Expo in California, USA.
The new CTI-EPC electronic detorsolator is protected by international patent and is thus the ideal solution for processing canned pears It positions, detors and removes pear blossoms and seeds with a speed of up to 280 fruits per minute. CTI-EPC processes pears according to their height (via sensors) and size (via self-adapting fins), adapting each step to each individual fruit.
